Business owners 'should be smart with Obama presidency'

Owners of small businesses should be conscious of the opportunities that may be presented to them during Barack Obama's presidency.
Such is the assertion of Gene Marks, owner of the Marks Group, who reports that those who are able to adapt to the winds of presidential change effectively may find they are able to increase their profits due to his planned proposals and policies, Business Week reports.
One way Marks claimed this could be done is by focusing on the energy industry. Stating that Obama has unveiled plans to invest $150 billion into clean energy technology during the next decade, it was suggested intelligent business owners should "be following this money trail", by selling and providing services to those in the utilities sector.
He added that small business may have to increasingly look toward outsourcing and subcontractors in a bid to manage the rising cost of employment and prepare for increasing taxes.
Marks also reported, "Smart business owners, with a little forward thinking, will prosper during the Obama presidency."
An article in the Pasadena Star News recently reported that under the Obama administration, small businesses could find that they have to pay less capital gains tax.
For those looking for an effective way of meeting their financial goals over the coming months - whether it is sustaining a healthy bottom line or expanding a business - seeking a business loan from a nontraditional lender could prove to be effective.
