Female business owners 'have opportunity to grow during credit crisis'

Such is the assertion of author Laura S. Wharton, who reports that in spite of the financial crisis opportunities still remain for firms to not only keep their heads above water but go on to grow their business.
One way in which this could be done, according to Wharton, is to analyze the tactics and technique of fellow business owners who have successfully coped through times of financial crisis.
She said, "There are successful business owners whose businesses have survived economic downturns time and time again."
In addition, the financial crisis offers a unique opportunity for women in business to expand their own organization.
"A slowdown for others can be a boom to one's client base and sales - if she has a proven plan for getting new work during a recession," Wharton added.
It was recently revealed that over 400 women in business attended a meeting in North Carolina in October to discuss their organizations and attempt to receive lines of credit to assist them with expansion.
