A Washington janitorial company has introduced a green cleaning program to its offerings, hoping to appeal to customers who are concerned about their environmental footprint.
This move is just one step that small and medium-sized firms may consider when exploring options for growing their business.
Glenda Smith, co-owner of ServiceMaster Superb Cleaning, told the Daily Herald that environmentally friendly cleaning products and processes appealed to both customers and employees.
"This is the right thing to do for our company and for our customers. Becoming a green business is one of our core values," she explained.
Although Smith admitted that the green system costs about ten percent more, she explained that more customers have been requesting these services.
Janitorial firms that are thinking of adding a green program may want to consider obtaining working capital by approaching a non-traditional lender.
The Office of the Federal Environmental Executive suggests that agencies using green products can position themselves as leaders in sustainable business practices.
