JDD of Highland Hills will undertake cleaning services at NASA's Glenn Research Center in Ohio as part of an extension to an existing contract.
The new deal, which commences in February, invests JDD with responsibility for general office cleaning, floor maintenance, window washing and the upkeep of specialized clean rooms at the NASA center, with its emphasis on aeronautics and spaceflight technology.
The procurement was undertaken as part of the federal-sponsored HUB Zone set-aside program, which seeks to promote contracting opportunities for businesses in historically distressed areas.
The program is administered by the Small Business Administration, which decides on which firms qualify for HUB status.
Under current rules, a company with HUB status must be owned by at least one U.S. national and have at least 35 percent of its staff residing within the designated zone.
The JDD contract will run for a fixed-price, two-year term, with three one-year options to follow.
