Many homeowners are aware that maintaining a vegetable garden can help them save money while also helping the environment. President Obama and his family provided a high-profile example for others to follow when they established an 1,100 square foot garden on the White House lawn.
A report in the Sarasota Herald Tribune cites government statistics showing that $100 spent on a vegetable garden can yield between $1,000 and $1,700 in fresh produce.
"I firmly believe that homeowners could use their yards and our water resources for a higher purpose than growing lawn grass and a few shrubs and grow some of their own food," landscape designer Rosalind Creasy told the newspaper, which spoke with another landscaping professional who specializes in helping clients use available space to create gardens.
Many homeowners have scaled back on big-ticket projects and even basic landscaping services like professional lawn care. Still, entrepreneurs who decide to pursue this developing niche may find opportunities to grow their business that may not have been there before.

Nice info. good work. When it comes to landscaping and labor intensive work I always bring out the bad boy toys. After destroying two back ends in my truck I finally decided to purchase some heavy duty equipment to help me on my way. I have found my dump truck and bucket truck to be very helpful with trimming tall trees and removing the debris from my yard.
