SCORE advises small businesses on successful strategies

In SCORE's Counselors to America's Small Business report, such organizations are advised to take steps to focus on the areas of their businesses that they have a firm control over and from there look to cut costs wherever possible, the Cherry Hill Courier Post reports.
Furthermore, small firms should take the time to monitor their cash flow on a regular basis and to install good collection policies into their business practice.
Opting for the latter may help to ensure that any money a firm is owed is received quickly.
Those looking for successful strategies to see them through 2009 were also advised to investigate new ways of doing business.
It was also reported that as now "is the time you need marketing the most," small businesses should consider publishing newsletters and sales alerts via e-mail.
Businesses should equally be careful to make sure they do not order more stock then is necessary, according to SCORE.
Meanwhile, the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council recently reported that 57 percent of small business owners believe the prospects of the American Dream of setting up and expand a business is on 'life support'.
For those looking for an effective way to meet financial goals in the months ahead, applying for a nontraditional small business loan could be advisable.
