This positive sign for an industry about to embark on spring and summertime contracts is revealed in a new lawn care poll by Consumer Reports National Research Center.
Generally, almost half of all adult respondents are looking forward to spending more time in their outdoor space this year compared to last. Some say this trend is emerging as more families opt to stay home and enjoy time together instead of spending money on a vacation.
And many of those people intend to spruce up their properties with the help of an outside service. Landscaping companies may see increased business from the roughly 36 percent of homeowners that intend to engage a lawn service this year.
According to the Consumer Reports poll, 22 percent of respondents will use a lawn and landscape maintenance service, 18 percent will contract with a landscaping company for fertilizing and 17 percent are seeking help with tree and shrub care.
