Many experts tout the importance of having a solid business plan and strategic goals set for a small business to help ensure long-term success. Women-owned businesses in many areas of the country are managing through the economic storm and being recognized for their achievements.
Many of these women business owners are eager to mentor other females on how to successfully manage a small business.
In Chicago, 50 young girls between the ages of 12 and 18 will have the chance to learn from local women business leaders and National Association of Women's Business Owners about running and growing a small firm.
"For Chicago-area women business owners, it's a chance to encourage, educate and recognize the potential of these young women as future business owners and leaders," said Kathy Readinger of Guardian, a co-sponsor of the women in business event.
